One GitHub Repository: Sensai connects with your code to help you see the bigger picture of your development work.
Just so you know, while Sensai can peek into other Jira projects and boards, its special sprint and meeting smarts are currently focused on your main Jira project/board. We're definitely working on expanding this in the future, so stay tuned!
Three Ways You Can Talk to Coach Sensai
Sensai is here to help in different scenarios. Think of it as having three different modes of interaction:
Private Chat: Your Personal AI Coach
What it is: This is your confidential 1-on-1 chat with Sensai, found right in Slack's "Apps" section. It's your space to ask anything you like without bothering the team.
How it works:
Find Your Private Space: Just head over to the "Apps" section in Slack and click on "Coach Sensai" to open up your private conversation.
Your Secret Weapon: Here, you can chat with Sensai just like you would a personal assistant, a trusted scrum master, or even a career coach. Ask it questions like “What tickets are assigned to me?” and you will get the list and advice how to tackle it.
Keep Track with History: Use the History to view past conversations.
Start Fresh with New Chat: Click New Chat to begin a discussion with a clean slate. (In beta, Sensai remembers the last 25 messages for context; "New Chat" clears this.)

On-Demand: Quick Answers in Your Team Channel
What it is: Need an instant answer or a specific piece of info right in your team's shared channel? On-Demand requests are perfect for those quick queries.
How it works:
Just Tag @sensai: Simply type
@sensaifollowed by your message or question directly in your team's Slack channel. It's that easy! If you sent a message and forgot to tag, just send @sensai, he will know!Smart Context: Sensai is smart enough to understand your question by looking at the current conversation and what's been discussed before in that channel. So, you don't always need to repeat yourself.
Get Answers Fast: Whether it's about sprint progress, a ticket status, or just some general agile advice, Sensai can give you immediate insights right where you are. “@sensai do we have a ticket about updating user permissions?”
Meetings: Smart Insights for Your Team Syncs
What they are: Your team's admin sets up these meetings (like your daily stand-ups or sprint reviews) through Coach Sensai. When it's time for the meeting, Sensai automatically jumps into your Slack channel to kick things off.
You can start a meeting using a slack command i.e. /start_standup or /start_retrospective
How they work:
Organized Threads: All meeting discussions happen within a dedicated thread in your team's Slack channel. This keeps everything tidy and easy to revisit later.
Instant Analysis: For stand-ups, Sensai starts things off with a clever analysis and report. It pulls data from your Jira project, highlighting what's moving, what's stuck, or anything that needs your team's attention. It’s like getting a quick, smart overview to help you focus your discussion!
Stay Focused: This upfront report helps your team quickly figure out what to talk about, making sure your meetings are productive and don't drag on.
